NewsDec 16, 2006 - The warden has ordered specially outfitted medical teams into San Padron, to support the brave efforts of the yard bulls. Any guard that requires medical assistance should turn their walkie-talkie to one of the listed frequencies. Oct 10, 2006 - Despite efforts of the security staff, inmates have been able to breach the perimeter of the West wing area. Prisoners have been spotted up to and including inside the entrance building and the office complex. Guards should be very cautious, and move in squads at all times. Jan 23 - Some inmates seem to think that hunting other inmates for cash rewards is a good way to spend their time. Any such infractions of prison rule will be punished severely. Guards linked to these practices risk suspension. We expect all personnel to perform as professionally as ever. Jan 7 - Engineers have been able to restore power to the relay system for the walkie-talkies. However, we fear some of the convicts may already have access to the walkie-talkies. All guards are required to contact their captain for the new set of frequencies. Jan 5 - It has come to our attention that many new inmates are smuggling methamphetamin into the prison. This drug has also amassed popularity among the new recruits. Drug trafficking and use will not be tolerated. Dec 22 - New players can now select a subclass, each of which comes with different initial skills and items. Existing players get the option to choose a subclass after they log on. Dec 19 - Public release of the beta is upon us. I'll be spending the next few days fixing whatever bugs pop up. Please report any problems at the forums. Dec 18 - We are vast approaching the public beta release of Jailriot.net. To accommodate new players, I've created a first draft of the FAQ page. Guards now start off with a loaded pistol, kevlar vests can be found to protect you from some damage, fences have been placed around the complex, and most notably, the cheat button is no longer available. Dec 10 - New features added in the last few days include: players can block others from moving onto their square, convicts can stomp disabled guards to remove some of their respect, guards can detain disabled convicts, sending them back to a cell, and a welcome screen for new players. Dec 4 - The map now features a script that unfolds it if you hold your mouse over any part of the map. This does require javascript. Everything should now fit on a 1024x768 screen, and probably even on 800x600. The outer edges of the map are hidden in darkness. Dec 2 - Inmates beware, sniper guards can now position themselves in the north-east tower and fire at convicts roaming the courtyard from there. Dec 1 - Many additions have been made to the game, the most notable of which are that convicts can now found gangs and recruit others, the map display now uses a five-by-five window, and screws can be used to etch messages into the walls. Nov 27 - This is the first BETA made available to the public. Note that the stamina system is currently disabled; you can get infinite moves by using the cheat button. This will be for an estimated period of one week. Nov 11 - Work started on Jailriot.net. |
